THE BLACK LABRADOR opened in 1986 in a building formerly
used by a church for its offices. It has 100 seals inside. 50 outside and
20 around the bar. The low ceilings and decorations gives the restaurant
an authentic, pub atmosphere unlike any in Houston.
"Perfect English Pub. Food is as good as the mixed drinks and beer selection. AND, the outdoor seating is absolutely FANTASTIC on a nice evening. Lots of big beautiful trees and the building is covered in ivy, absolutely lovely. Last time I went I had the hamburger which totally surprised me by how delicious it was. Sheperd's pie and fish and chips also come highly recommended by me. Favorite sweet cocktails unique to the Brits: Margaret Thatcher and Sumerset Punch. Oh, and this is one of the few places I know of that makes a proper Old Fashioned. "
